Did you know that the time of day and the day of the week can both have a significant impact on the effectiveness of your mortgage marketing on Facebook? A recent report from Buddy Media cited several different factors that can determine the success of your Facebook updates, including the time of day you post, which days you post on, and what words you include.
Timing is key.
According to the report, brands that posted Facebook updates outside of normal business hours had a 20% higher rate of engagement among their followers. In other words, updates that occur during the hours of 7 AM, 5 PM, and 11 PM will typically result in more comments, likes, and clicks. This actually makes a lot of sense when you consider the fact that these times are when the majority of people are using the Internet for fun.
Different days have varying engagement levels.
Not only do you need to consider the time of the day that you post, you also need to consider which days of the week are more effective in driving fan engagement. The study revealed that Thursdays and Fridays have 18% more engagement than the other 5 days of the week. This makes sense when you consider how people are usually busier in the early parts of the week and therefore aren’t online as often. Sundays are also another effective day, as people are typically more inclined to be free to surf the web on their day off from work.
Choose your words carefully.
One of the simplest ways to increase engagement on your Facebook page is to simply ask for it! Use actions words such as “like”, “comment”, “submit”, “post”, “tell us”, “share”, etc when posing a question or sharing information on Facebook. These words have been shown to be the most effective as getting people to take action by liking your update or commenting, which is then broadcast to all of their connections, further increasing your reach.
While these are certainly only a few of the things you should take into account if you use Facebook in your mortgage marketing strategy, they are still very important. Understanding the best ways to reach potential customers is the epitome of a successful mortgage marketing strategy.
Do you agree with the above statistics? Why or why not?
