Many are left wondering what 2012 will bring, and how to best prepare for it.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent article on worldpropertychannel.com, Freddie Mac Chief Economist predicts that both the U.S. economy and housing market will gain some ground.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While the headwinds remain strong going into 2012, there are indications the economy and the housing market are gaining ground, albeit slowly,&#8221; says Nothaft.<\/p>\n<p>He has even gone a step further and has provided five housing market predictions for 2012, which we have summarized for you below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Economic growth will rise to around 2.5 percent in 2012.<\/li>\n<li>The U.S. unemployment rate will remain above 8 percent (a small decline).<\/li>\n<li>Mortgage rates will stay low through mid-2012.<\/li>\n<li>Housing activity will improve, but not explode.<\/li>\n<li>There will be less single-family originations and more multifamily lending.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The full article expands
